The Fruitbat Story
Background
Growing up in small-town Illinois, Fruitbat watched every movie he could get his hands on. With a fresh degree in Theater from the University of Illinois, he moved to Los Angeles to work as an award winning Sound Designer on movies such as the Matrix sequels and 8-Mile (he has a couple of Golden Reel statues to prove it.) He supervised the sound for several Joel Silver movies and Aeon Flux before moving to Vancouver, Canada where he currently works on AAA video games and pursues his passion for writing horror and comedy features.
Screenwriting
Fruitbat has placed in screenplay contests such as Austin Film Festival, Page Awards, Shore and Screencraft. To date, he's optioned five feature scripts, including horror/comedy about an alcoholic merman which won “Best Creature Feature," a psychological thriller screenplay featuring rock climbers which is currently being developed in Australia, and a story about a young boy and his murderous unicorn.
